Tannat is a variety typically grown in Madiran located in the southwest of France as well as the country of Uruguay. We sourced this this fruit from one of a handful of vineyards that grow Tannat in California. The vineyard is located in the southern reaches of Monterey County where the long hot days and cool nights create deep rich flavors and balanced acidity. Aged for 3 years in French Oak to mellow the beastly tannins, the Moxy Tannat is a meat eaters wine!

This is a very good wine. If you are looking for something a little unique that is a bigger red such as a Tempranillo, Baco noir or Malbec this is it! It is a wine special enough to share with others... or just yourself. In either case, this is a must try.

Wow. This bad boy is big and smoothe, but still a full mouth. I opened up this big boy and let him air for about 30 minutes. First nose was a little alcohol forward, kinda hot. In the glass he opened up to a nice boysenberry, at the second pouring the nose was baking spices followed by a third pouring of a nice jammy berry maybe cherry. I served this with an amazing porterhouse which is what this wine was meant for. I am gonna need more of this!!
