2015 Chehalem Mountain Pinot Noir
Our first foray into Pinot Noir from the Willamette Valley. This was sourced from the northeast portion of the Chehalem Mountains. Made entirely from clone 777 this wine is incredibly rich and complex. Fermented on 25% whole clusters in concrete open tops for 14 days with punchdowns morning and evening. Aged for 14 months in 30% new French Oak. As with most clone 777 wines you will first notice the dark color. The nose opens with notes of cherry and raspberry leading to baking spice and forest floor. As you take your first sip you will enjoy the rich silky texture and creamy finish. This wine builds over time to great structure and balanced acidity. Enjoy on its own and savor the qualities or serve with a seared duck breast with creamy polenta.
